Osun state students under the aegis of National Association of Osun State Students has described the extension of Strike by Nigeria University lecturers as callous, selfish and attempt to further degrade the educational standard of the country.

The association Threatened to resolve to confrontation with the Union and Federal government of Nigeria if nothing is done within a week.

Naoss National president, Comrade Moshood Agboola made the reaction in a release by his media aid, Jamiu Omoniyi in Osogbo.

Naoss wondered why Government has been so consumed by the preparation for 2023 election at the expense of teeming Nigerian

Students who represent the majority of the electorate.

He noted that the patriotism of academic staff union of university, Asuu, is also in question owing to their inability to enable soft landing in the interest of Nigerian students.

“There’s no other way we will approach this Nigeria epileptic educational system thann to take other way round and drag the federal government concomitantly with the concerned union to jettison their inconsiderate approach to what matters to our life and future and call off the strike without further delay.

“We will not rest on our oars anymore and watch them making selfish negotiation and permutations with our own future despite the fact that the same educational system produced them, many for free.

“It is high time we call a spade a spade, so that our dream of saner generation will be a reality.

“We hereby give the federal government and Asuu a week to call off the strike or witness Confrontations in the nudes and crannies of the country.” Agboola said.

The union thereby charged its members across the globe to get ready to fight for their right from the manacles of tyrannical Federal Government and Asuu.

In his reaction, A student of The Federal University of Technology, Akure, Peter Adeniran, decried the Asuu decision to extend the strike, noting that students are at the receiving end of the unfortunate development.

Adeniran who is the president of, Osun State Students in Futa charged Asuu to do away with the persistent strike and devise other formidable strategy to achieve their demands.

He highlighted numerous effects the strike is having on the students populace among which is lost of motivation and subsequent bad performance in academic activities.

“On my own part, I don't feel it's right. It's the students that get punished for this strike, imagine entering the university to do a course of five years but still in 400 after seven years neglecting those that came in with predegree.

“There should be another solution to get what they want apart from this drama they are putting we Nigerian students into. What's so much disheartening is after this whole strike most student get back to school not having the interest in reading or having good grades, eventually comes out with bad grades or spill over and so lecturers will still prefer to fail so student after punishing us with the strike. I hope we get a better solution soon.” Adeniran Submitted.

Similarly, Osun state students president in the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Shamsudeen Odebiyi recounted several loss and damages the recurring task is causing on the students stating that it shows inconsideration on the path if the federal government and Asuu.

Odebiyi Added that “Federal government and Asuu have nothing to loose but we the students have so many things to loose , nobody pay the damage to the  students such as time wasting, house rent wasting and so on.

“I must confess to you the strike really affect me and all others students because have received so many report.”
