Coronavirus Hits 21 African Countries, Fear Continues

By General Jamo The deadly coronavirus, which originated from China, has hit more 21 African nations. Namibia, Rwanda, and Eswatini have just reported their first cases. The development puts the number of African nations with recorded cases at 21. On Friday, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said 123 countries have been affected in less than three months. In Eswatini, formerly Swaziland, the government said the infected person is a 33-year-old. The patient recently returned from a business trip to the United States. In Namibia, the Health Minister told the media that a Spanish couple tested positive. In Rwanda, Health Minister Daniel Ngamije, said an Indian national from Mumbai had been infected. There are fears over health systems in many countries on the continent. Presidency Reveals Secrets Behind Sanusi Dethronement

By General Jamo The Presidency has revealed real reasons the deposed emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi, was ousted, stating the various moves made by President Muhammadu Buhari to save him. A top Presidency source disclosed in Abuja on Saturday that Buhari’s intervention led to the setting up of the different reconciliation committees whose efforts came to naught. The Presidency blamed the intransigence of both sides of the conflict for the way it turned out. The revelations came after the Presidency had previously denied that Buhari had anything to do with the dethronement of Sanusi. Argungu Festival: Man Who Catch Biggest Fish Wins N10 Million, Two Cars, Hajj Seats

By General Jamo Mallam Abubakar Ya’u from Augie Local Govern­ment Area of Kebbi on Saturday got N10 million, two new cars and two Hajj seats for catching the biggest fish weighing 78 kilogramme at the 2020 Argungu fishing festival. According to newsmen, Ya’u’s catch was adjudged the best among the fishes caught by more than 50,000 fishermen that partic­ipated in the annual cultural festival held in Kebbi State. Mallam Bala Yaha­ya-Bagaye clinched the sec­ond position with his fish that weighed 75 kilogramme, while Mallam Maiwake Sani came third for catching a fish weigh­ing 70 kilogramme. Chairman, Northern Gov­ernors Forum, Governor Simon Lalong, donated N3 million to the first position, N2 million to the second position, while N1 million went to the fisherman that clinched the third position. CoronaVirus: Avoid Handshake, Aregbesola Tell Nigerians

CoronaVirus has been declared as world emergency by the world health organization and as such different precautionary measure have been globally and Nationally suggested. The Nigeria Minister for interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in a video he posted on his official Twitter account @RaufAregbesola urged Nigerians to temporarily do away with the traditional handshake which can be a catalyst for the rapid transmission of the deadly virus. Aregbesola said, "do away with handshake at this time and you should try to exchange greetings in a distance. "Wash your hand regularly and maintain hygienic lifestyle." The former osun state governor also advised Nigerians not to harbor any hatred if anyone refuses to shake them stressing that it is for the meantime.
