Fedpoffa Condemns Sex For Marks, Distant School From The Menace

The Authority of The  Federal Polytechnic Offa, Offa Kwara State has condemned and criticized the act of sex for marks, which has become rampant in Nigeria higher institutions in the recent time.

Describing it as a blow on the progress of sustainable academic standard in the country, The Rector of the school, Dr lateef Olatunji while leading a campaign against sex for Mark organized by mass communication Department of the school said the school mean business in Penalizing anyone found wanting in the act.

 Dr Olatunji said that it is the responsibility of all stakeholder in the education  sector to profer lasting solution to the act, "that's why we have begin open crusade to insist on our stand to prevent the act from penetrating to the fastest growing polytechnic."

The Rector asked the Students to read and assimilate so as to be able to pass exam without any illicit approach.

"We want your generation to be better than our own, that is why you must read and study and report any sex for grade advance from anybody regardless of his status for due legal action to take its course", the Rector stated.

The head of mass communication Department, that organized the campaign, Mr Wole Alawode noted that the Sensitization rally is to nip in the bud the act of sex for grade Nigerian schools and also orientate Students on the associated Dangers.

Mr Alawode lamented that it is part of the reason why Nigeria Education is falling and failing as students relies on shortcuts to academic success instead of proper study.

    He noted that one of the ways the school is sustaining its integrity by doing all possible best to avoid sex for marks syndrome or other forms of illegal gratification in the school.

        According to him any staff or student of the institution found  wanting in that regard will face the wrath of law of the polytechnic.

   The students union government president comrade Abiola Azeez Adigun who participated in the campaign alongside his executives noted that the school is currently free from the act but noted that the campaign is part of the precautionary measure against its occurrence.
Adigun stressed that, "So far so good, sanity is reigning in our school and we will never compromise on the foundational policies of the institution which are discipline, hard work and excellence".
However, he charged the students and staffs of the college not to relent in their contribution to elevate the school to an enviable heights.

The campaign against sex for grade is a professional awareness by members of HND2 Students of mass communication Department Coordinated by Mr Zakariyau Mujeeb and Mr Chuks Okoji among other Departmental lecturers.

 Students in their numbers while playing host to the campaign team expressed interest in the campaign and commend the school management while they promised not to be involved in the act for any reason.
